Ubi Caritas, Deus Ibi Est
Leap of Faith
Hope points us to God, we hope and wait for God, we may not take any action during this time of waiting.
Faith is our action plan to realise our hope – this could be dream or desire for those who do not believe in God through action to become reality. The nourishment that fosters growth comes in the darkness and has to be received by Faith.
Love is the fruit of our spiritual growth to sustain our connection with our God the Creator, leading us closer to God’s plan for us.
Triumph of Joy
“...that is why I am quite content with my weaknesses, and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and the agonies I go through for Christ’s sake. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.” [1]
As a mother of a disabled child, she endlessly and tirelessly devotes her life to her daughter. She has always prepared to give her best to keep her daughter away from any harm. She would rather take her place and suffer pain for her. Over two decades, she always dreams of dancing with her daughter in a deformed and fragile body.
“Ubi caritas, Deus ibi est…” she recites continuously as prayers to search for comfort from God, understanding that the Lord our God is always beside them.
Ubi caritas, Deus ibi est.
(Where there is love, there God is.) [2]
“Whatever gives life –
the amazing structures of our bodies (hope),
the subtle nuances of our thinking minds (faith),
the gentle movements of love that warm our hearts (love) –
these in all their infinite variety of manifestations continue to give us life, as the ocean holds the fish in being.” [3]
